I replaced a custom cut white horizontal blind in my kitchen bay window that's been driving me crazy for years with these BLACKOUT curtains. This window throws glare on my TV all the way across my kitchen & living room during the day. Someone hung the blinds outside of the casement opening close to the sink. They always got stained with water splashback. They finally broke after years of daily use. A blessing. I didn't want to buy another custom blind. Too expensive & I hated the old one. The SOLUTION was a tension rod inside the bay window to hang these BLACKOUTS.I bought the BLACK ones. These are absolutely beautiful curtains FOR THE PRICE! Gorgeous quality fabric. And they are TRUE BLACKOUTS that WORK! No more glare on my TV. My guess is that if I had bought the WHITE ones to match my appliances, they would have worked too. But, almost everything in my house is red, burgundy & black. Dracula would be proud! LOL.I already have black vertical blinds on the sliding glass doors next to my kitchen, but they still leak a little light on my TV. (The kitchen window was the worst.) I'm seriously thinking about replacing the verticals & doing all 3 windows in my living room with these. They're THAT GOOD!5 Stars FOR SURE! Thanx, NICETOWN!Keeps my bedroom dark during morning hours and help me get some good uninterrupted sleep.The curtains have a dense weave, yet not real heavy when hanging. They have definitely made a difference holding the temperature in our bedroom. The only disappoint was the backside lining isn’t white. I was contemplating ordering more for my other rooms, but the bedroom windows are visible from the front side of our house and I don’t want to add sheers or blinds to hide the darker lining.I like the way it really cuts out all light. I have bought curtains in the past that said that it light blocking, nothing to this one. Room is so much cooler!!!These are very heavy, smooth polyester curtains and were described as having a white backing. The backing is actually light gray. They do a great job at blocking the light, except for the area between the middle of the grommet and upper curtain hem (not lined with anything). The bottom hem on one of the panels was crooked (off by about an inch). The manufacturer needs to do a much better job with quality control and the seller needs to give a more accurate description of the backing color.Pretty nice curtains, this blue looks very good. The grommets are good quality, although I do wish they were maybe darker, or at least a little less contrast. My curtain rod is actually a little lower than the length of these curtains so they drag the ground a little bit. They would do a pretty good job blocking light but my window is too wide, so I'll have to get another set.I wouldn't call these "high end" but they do the job right out of the bag.The fabric is plain and smooth, with no adornment.They do come out of the bag with wrinkles, so you'll almost certainly want to steam or iron them.The sun blocking feature is pretty absolute, so if you want any window light you'll have to push them aside.I chose the chocolate brown, and the backing fabric matches the front. I like that. It really is a solid chocolate brown color. Hopefully they won't fade.Considering the 84 inch length, they are fairly heavy. If you're looking for something light and airy, look elsewhere.They were super easy to hang on my 1 inch rod, and the hems are pretty even and straight.Simple, but pretty nice for the $37 current price.I hope that helps.
